Denise worked as a school teacher for 5 years in Northern Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and the Yukon (1973-78). As an employment counselor, both individual and group for 8 years with the Federal Government (1979-87) in Whitehorse and Saskatoon. Then as a counselling consultant and staff trainer for Human Resources Development Canada. (1987-2004)
She was selected for an international assignment, by the World Bank and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges to assist in the set up of an Employment Counelling service in Romania.
She presented a unique and creative approach to counselling called, “Feng Shui –Lifestyle Solutions”, at an International Career Development Conference (NATCON) in Ottawa in January of 2001.
She now runs a small Bed & Breakfast called the “Dragon’s Nest” and works as a training consultant. To her, championing the concept of balancing your life and well being through awareness, vision and choice…is meaningful work. She is well known for her entrepreneurial spirit and her creative, compassionate and courageous ways.
