• This training and facilitator has imparted a revolutionary model of intervention that has changed and clarified my
concept of what employment counselling is truly about.
• Excellent!
• This was an excellent training session. Would recommend it to anyone. Gained a lot of knowledge.
• I am 5 courses short of my degree and that is a ‘weakness’ in applying for Employment Counselling positions. I feel this
training has prepared me for the job I want as opposed to any university course. A.C.E.C. is “real”.
• Wonderful to see the breakdown of the Assessment for employment counselling. I found the information that I was
given to be of great benefit to my personal counselling ability.
• I can see applying these principals in real life! Thank you so much. I can bring so much to my job and to my clients
especially.
• This training, matched with my skills will allow me to better serve my clientele, DENISE…. you’re amazing!
• Really interesting, a valuable knowledge gaining opportunity.
• Great way to learn and share.
• This training was so effective. I feel that we’ve learned and are going away with so much. The role playing really gave
me more confidence to continue working with my clients as well did the skills and information.
• Excellent and very useful.
• This was an excellent workshop. I got more from this training than I thought I was going to. So glad I had the
opportunity to be here.
• This training is extremely valuable in counselling and everyday life. Empathetically speaking is a way of life. This
course has provided a system that will establish a method of establishing goals for feeling of self satisfaction as something
that can naturally be reflected in my work.
• The training was simply transforming for me, I mean this honestly.
• Great training that I promise to use on a daily basis! This training will increase the level of service we have been
providing to our clients. It really will help us serve our mission statement: Building strong kids, strong families, and strong
communities!!

The information I found most useable:
• The Model (Roadmap) itself provided some exceptional guidance in helping clients in the future.
• The 12 Steps - the actual “system” and the hands-on practical role playing sessions – “practise makes perfect” or
certainly improves.
• Following the steps in A.C.E.C.; use of empathetic listening.
• All components useful in helping direct us to where we should go although some doesn’t apply.
• The importance of letting a client tell their story.
• Absolutely everything!!
• How to state empathetic responses.
• I now have a “tool kit” for work – always wanted to be in the trades.
• Helping people see “the control” they have over what “can” happen
• Dealing with reluctant clients, the Action plan and the use of empathy.
• Formalizing the process helped me to put things in perspective
• A frame work in which to follow.
• Phase II really applied to our organization.
• Role play.
• How to deal with problem clients; effectively get the problem out in the open.
• All of it.
• The need to really explore a client and uncover strengths, weakness, and most importantly, potential.
• Steps, sidebars, communication skills, importance of atmosphere and introductions. Empathy overall. Fully enjoyed.
• Everything!
What I wish I would have received from the training:
• Pointers in helping in a successful client interview.
• Ways to adapt program to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• How to motivate my clients, which I received.
• “Pulling” information from client who “will not share”.
• More examples of open ended questions and pulling information from the clients
• Everything was good.
• Being able to apply all phases to my clients as all steps are useful.
• A small card (wallet type) to keep on me at all times.
• Get through to the client who doesn’t hear/understand what you are saying.
• Cheat sheets.
• A video presentation of a professional A.C.E.C. interview with real client
• Mastery.
• Everything I wished for I got
